Their excursions are not random. Every year they plan at least two big getaways, with absolute precision and detail. They research every destination, every route, every possible challenge in advance. Sometimes they choose the plane, sometimes they travel by road, especially when they want to explore the place in depth. <\/p>\n\n
They love the authentic. Instead of tourist hotspots, they seek out the unexpected \u2014 corners of the world that don\u2019t clamor for attention but whisper experiences. In many cases, they have chosen to sleep in a tent mounted on the roof of their car, living closer to nature, away from noise \u2013 metaphorical and literal. <\/p>\n\n
Their first such experience in Halkidiki scared them. Not because of the unknown, but because they wouldn\u2019t be able to hear if something dangerous was happening. However, they quickly realized that the world is not as scary as they are taught. Since then, they have slept like this in dozens of places \u2013 and the only thing that woke them up was a few kind police officers. <\/p>\n\n
Technology, English sign language, and even pantomime are tools that allow them to communicate everywhere. Kyriaki often uses an app for instant sign language interpretation, solving everyday communication issues \u2013 from medical appointments to tourist information. And always, when technology is not enough, there is a smile and a good mood. <\/p>\n\n
“The language of people overcomes every obstacle,” says Kyriaki, summarizing their philosophy. And it is this attitude that makes their presence so special in every country. <\/p>\n\n
Iceland enchanted them: an alien landscape that made them feel like they had been to another world. But they didn’t stay there. They have traveled to almost every continent: Asia, Africa, America, Oceania. Everywhere they collected stories, smells, colors, and flavors. And everywhere, something showed them that being different is never a problem when you are authentic. <\/p>\n\n
Despite thousands of kilometers, a part of them is always here. \u201cGreece is our home. It has light, it has flavor, it has sea,\u201d they say. They know well that their country is not always easy for people with disabilities, but they deeply believe that it is changing \u2013 and that each of their adventures helps to change it themselves. <\/p>\n\n
