On Saturday, June 14<\/strong> , the heart of Athens beats more colorfully than ever! Syntagma Square is transformed into a meeting point, celebration and advocacy as Athens Pride<\/strong> celebrates 20 years of marching<\/strong> this year, with the slogan \u201cWe Count\u201d<\/strong> echoing loudly in every corner of the city. <\/p>\n\n

The LGBTQI+ community, allies, and everyone who believes in an inclusive and discriminatory society will be present at the square from 7:00 PM. Together, we count what we have achieved<\/strong> , the battles we have fought<\/strong> , and the lives we honor<\/strong> through this institution that is not just a parade \u2013 it is a statement of existence and dignity. <\/p>\n\n

We Count Joys<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Two decades of Athens Pride<\/strong> have meant moments of freedom, acceptance, and empowerment. From the first kisses in the crowd to the first times we heard \u201cI love you\u201d out loud without fear. These moments build today and fill tomorrow with hope. <\/p>\n\n

We Count Losses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

We honor those who are no longer with us. From the victims of gender-based and homophobic violence, to the people lost in silence and indifference. From Zackie\/Zak to the women who came out as HIV positive in 2012, Pride is also an act of remembrance. <\/p>\n\n

We Count Wins<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

From legal gender identity recognition and civil partnership, to same-sex marriage and institutional reforms for intersex people \u2013 every victory is the result of collective struggles. And every Pride is a celebration of these conquests. <\/p>\n\n

We Count Games<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Pride is a deeply political act. It is visibility against silence, freedom against oppression, and the right to joy. From Stonewall to Athens 2025, LGBTQI+ communities have never stopped fighting. The road is long, but we walk it together. <\/p>\n\n

Inclusion is a Celebration \u2013 Celebration is a Claim<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In an era when hate speech is trying to become normal, Athens Pride 2025 comes to remind us that every life counts, every identity counts, we count<\/strong> . And we celebrate \u2013 for everyone.<\/p>\n\n

The Greek Diversity Charter<\/strong> is there again this year! As every year, it actively supports Athens Pride<\/strong> , not only with words but with works, actions and continuous presence<\/strong> . Come and meet, celebrate, unite. Because only together can we continue to count what is truly worth it. <\/p>\n\n

The artistic program of Athens Pride<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

We are counting down… 20 years since the first Athens Pride in Klafthmonos Square, 20 years of marches in the center of Athens, 20 years of actions for visibility and demands. <\/p>\n\n

This year, the need for inclusion and visibility is stronger than ever as, in a general climate of insecurity, threats, hate speech and violence, we measure our strengths, the alliances we build and choose the right side of history. The side that will find us all together in a world that has no intention of taking away what we have conquered. <\/p>\n\n

Our roots in the cultural heritage of the place are deep and this year’s artistic lineup highlights it through music<\/strong> . On stage are Someone Who Isn’t Me<\/strong> , a queer feminist band with electro-pop music, THRAX PANKC<\/strong> who marry the bagpipe with punk energy, the songwriter of our time Panos Vlachos<\/strong> , Dagipoli Dance Co<\/strong> who rewrites the terms of physical expression with contemporary dance, the pop ICON, Katerina Stikoudi<\/strong> in a unique pop show, the sensational Giota Nega<\/strong> with an artistic, folk song that we have all sung quietly and Andromeda Balls<\/strong> in an unforgettable drag performance. Also, on our stage will appear Angel Seemen & Regina Lohan<\/strong> with a performance that will magnetize you. <\/p>\n\n

The lineup is completed with a DJ set by Xenia Ghali<\/strong> with tech house and Vintage grooves, Pan V<\/strong> with the most famous pieces of pop and R&B music, Beng\u00fc<\/strong> with techno from the underground scene, Discoben<\/strong> with uplifting disco music and finally Floba<\/strong> who will properly prepare us for the start of the Pride march at 19:00.<\/p>\n\n
