This expansion comes in response to the particularly high demand presented by the initial program of 1,000 positions, which have already been filled.<\/p>\n\n<p>Ms. Kerameus clearly emphasized: \u201cOur fellow citizens with disabilities are absolutely suitable for work. It does not mean that a disability is an obstacle to employment &#8211; quite the opposite.\u201d In fact, she recalled the institutionalization of a regulation that now allows <strong>pensioners with disabilities<\/strong> to work without losing their pension, strengthening their equality and financial independence.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Minister referred to the need <strong>to integrate vulnerable population groups<\/strong> into the labor market \u2013 especially young people, women and people with disabilities. The Ministry&#8217;s policy aims to create a <strong>more inclusive work environment<\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n<p>An indicative tool in this direction is the digital platform <strong>Jobmatch<\/strong> , which allows any interested person to find a job according to their qualifications and preferences &#8211; even with the possibility of <strong>a direct interview via video call<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Human resources and unemployment reduction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Unemployment in Greece has fallen to <strong>8.3% \u2013 the lowest level in 17 years<\/strong> . This has also resulted in job vacancies appearing, as the pool of available personnel is limited. The government, as the minister noted, <strong>is investing in the modernization of employment<\/strong> , with innovations such as:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u201cCareer Days\u201d<\/strong> in 18 cities in Greece, with the participation of thousands of job seekers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Similar events abroad (London, Amsterdam, D\u00fcsseldorf, etc.) that strengthen the connection of the Greek diaspora with the Greek market<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encouragement for <strong>the return of young Greeks abroad<\/strong> , in the context of addressing the demographic problem<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>Digital tools for equal opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>digital work card<\/strong> , which is already applied to over 1.5 million workers, has proven valuable in recording overtime and preventing undeclared work. With <strong>expansion to new sectors<\/strong> (tourism, energy, wholesale, financial services), even more workers will be protected, enhancing <strong>fair competition and labor transparency<\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Faster pensions \u2013 Digitalization with a social dimension<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The main pension issuance process has now been reduced <strong>from 500 to less than 50 days<\/strong> .
