Fundación Diversidad celebrated the XI Fundación Diversidad Awards last November 25, in a landmark event that recognised Spain’s leading organisations committed to diversity, equality of opportunities, and inclusion. The gala, held for the first time in Barcelona, took place at the iconic CosmoCaixa Science Museum, gathering companies, public institutions, social entities, and key personalities from the fields of diversity and human rights.
During the ceremony, Teresa Viejo, President of Fundación Diversidad, underscored the strategic value of inclusive management: “Diversity drives innovation, improves the work environment, attracts and retains talent, and strengthens reputation and sustainability. In short, it makes us better.”
The event, hosted by journalist Eva Torrents, featured an extensive program that highlighted Europe’s commitment to diversity values. After a welcome by Patricia Trillo Fox (CaixaBank), the conference “The Value of Europe: United in Diversity” was delivered by Dolors Camats, director of Fundació Catalunya Europa.
The European vision was reinforced with an institutional message from Manuel Szapiro, Director of the European Commission Representation Office in Barcelona, who assured that “Diversity makes us more human and stronger.”
During the awards ceremony, there was also space for the signing event, where more than 20 companies reinforced their commitment to the Diversity Charter, publicly highlighting their adherence to its 10 principles. Among the organizations that signed or reaffirmed their commitment were Allianz, Aviapartner Spain, the Council of Antequera (or Ayuntamiento de Antequera if preferring the official name), BD, CaixaBank, Lidl Supermercados, ManpowerGroup, PortAventura World, UCI, Towa, and Vivofácil, among others. This moment of the event underscored the importance of fostering inclusive work cultures and advancing towards more responsible and cohesive organizations. After the signing moment, the Board of the Diversity Foundation presented the finalists for each category and revealed the winners. The jury, comprised of the Foundation’s board of trustees, meticulously evaluated the finalist nominations based on adherence to the Diversity Charter principles, effective diversity management, social impact, and innovative character.
