The heart of Athens beat loudly on Saturday, June 14, 2025 , on the 20th anniversary of Athens Pride , with thousands of citizens flooding the city center to celebrate diversity , demand equality and demonstrate for freedom , justice and dignity for all.
Diversity Charter Greece , true to its commitment to promoting inclusion in the workplace and in society, once again provided a dynamic “presence” . With a landmark pavilion in Syntagma Square, it welcomed thousands of visitors, representatives of the political and artistic worlds, as well as numerous allies of the LGBTQI+ community, proving in practice that inclusion is not just an idea, but an everyday practice.
The Slogan “We Count” and its Message
This year’s Pride had as its motto “We Count” , a message with multiple levels. The LGBTQI+ community counts historically , counts humanly , counts politically . Athens Pride 2025 honors two decades of visibility, with significant victories but also a relentless effort against contemporary threats such as the rise of the far right and the normalization of hate speech. As the organizers emphasized: “Nothing is given. Our rights are challenged daily.”
Syntagma Square: A Sea of Colors and Hope
From noon, Syntagma Square was transformed into a colorful canvas of unity and acceptance. Music, dance, slogans, children’s laughter and voices of hope filled the air. The huge Pride flag was unfurled in front of the Greek parliament, provoking emotion and apotheosis.
The march began at 7:00 PM, with people of all ages, identities and backgrounds participating. This year, special emphasis was also placed on the global dimension of human rights , with many participants expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian people, holding banners in support of peace and freedom.
The Diversity Charter Greece: Present, Active and Participatory
Diversity Charter Greece actively participated throughout the day, strongly and substantively declaring its commitment to the principles of diversity and equality. Its stand at Syntagma Square was transformed into a point of information, meeting and meaningful networking, gathering a multitude of visitors from every sector of society: from civil society, the business world and the public sector, to the political and artistic spheres.
The presence at the stand of individuals with a strong social and political footprint further highlighted the importance of Diversity Charter Greece’s participation in the event. Among the visitors were the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, the president of the Freedom Cruise, Zoe Konstantopoulou, the president of the Democracy Movement, Stefanos Kasselakis, accompanied by his husband, Tyler. The stand was also attended by the State MP of the New Democracy party, George Stamatis, Mrs. From the artistic field, the presence of George Kapoutzidis stood out, who later also took on the presentation of the main concert of the evening.
The consistent presence of Diversity Charter Greece at Athens Pride clearly underlined that inclusion and equality, especially in the workplace, are not only an ethical choice, but also the foundation of every democratic society that respects people, identity and freedom of expression.
The big celebration
The finale of the day was equally intense and emotionally charged. At 20:30, the main stage of Pride was transformed into a large space of celebration and emotion, with hosts Giorgos Kapoutzidis and the dazzling Andromeda Balls. On stage were Giota Nega, who shocked with her intensely charged performance, and Panos Vlachos, who thrilled the audience with his energy and immediacy. Katerina Stikoudi offered a dynamic pop show, stirring the audience, while the group Someone Who Isn’t Me added its own queer feminist pulse with electronic pop sounds.
The program continued with THRAX PANKC, who brought a combination of traditional music and punk energy to the stage, as well as with Dagipoli Dance Co, who presented a physically expressive dance performance, highlighting the power of contemporary dance as a tool for visibility. The performances of Andromeda Balls and Angel Seemen & Regina Lohan with their captivating drag performances, gave an explosive aesthetic dimension to the evening.
The artistic program was completed with DJ sets from beloved names in the scene. Xenia Ghali with tech house sounds and vintage grooves, Pan V with the most popular choices of pop and R&B music, Bengü with dark techno aesthetics, Discoben with irresistible disco vibes and Floba, who with her own unique style ideally prepared the audience for the pride march, transformed Syntagma Square into a large, liberating dancefloor.
