The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Niki Kerameus, presented, together with the Deputy Minister Costas Karagounis and the Secretary General of Labor Relations Nikos Milapidis, the new bill that aspires to change the labor landscape in Greece: “Fair Work for All: Simplification of Legislation – Support for the Employee – Protection in Practice” .
A groundbreaking bill, based on dialogue with social partners , with proposals that came directly from society – workers, employers, unions. The goal is clear: an inclusive working environment, with transparency, security and equal opportunities for all .

1. Fast, accessible recruitment
- Reduction of bureaucracy and immediate announcement of recruitment with a single document .
- Digital employee card and smart notifications via myErgani.
- New mobile application for employers, friendly and functional for everyone.
- Smart hiring for urgent needs – work up to 2 days, with one click .
2. True simplification – no more unnecessary procedures
- Elimination of paper documents that have already been digitized.
- Unification of policies to prevent violence, harassment and discrimination .
- Simplification of the Digital Work Card – technology at the service of equality.
3. Working in modern terms
- The possibility of flexible multi-employment is established with respect for schedules and rights.
- Overtime and shift work – with clear compensation and transparency .
4. Real employee empowerment
- Four-day work available year-round – support for parents and caregivers .
- No reduction in salary after the Digital Card – protection against arbitrariness .
- Recognition of maternity for foster mothers as well – equal opportunities in care .
- Parental benefits: tax-free, non-seizable, non-assignable .
- Right to autonomously declare retirement from work – strengthening the individual voice .
5. Safety at work for all – without exceptions
- Mandatory safety coordinators in technical projects.
- First aid training for all employees.
- Strengthening the role of Employee Health and Safety Committees – employees at the center .
6. In full harmony with ILO International Conventions
- Important ILO acts are ratified – Greece puts its international responsibility into practice .
7. A Labor Inspectorate with voice and power
- Protection of Inspectors from violence and obstruction – safety for judicial inspectors .
- Strengthening structures, human resources and travel expenses – especially for island areas.
8. Transparency and care for insured persons
- Increases from collective bargaining agreements and employers without additional insurance charges .
- Postal voting for pensioner organizations – democracy for all .
- New internal transparency controls at NAT.
