For the 14th time, the German Diversity Charter organised the German Diversity Day, taking a clear stance on the current economic and social situation.
Under the motto «When diversity wins, we all win’, companies, public sector organisations, universities, associations and foundations throughout Germany participated in the action day on 19 May with their own campaigns. More than 1,500 organisations have joined and participated in the LinkedIn group for the day of action. On Instagram, over 5,000 hashtags and mentions have shown a significant engagement of public and private accounts with the German Diversity Day. The action day also received broad visibility through a ten-day billboard campaign in six major German cities.
The number and range of activities demonstrate how firmly the topic is now embedded in the world of work, from short awareness sessions for small teams to employee dialogues, internal campaigns, workshops and company-wide diversity weeks featuring external speakers and conferences. «What we see here is not just lip service. This is a lived reality in thousands of organisations. Each organisation decides for itself how to approach the topic. It is precisely this diversity of approaches that is the message," says Cawa Younosi, Managing Director of the German Diversity Charter in a press statement of the action day.
