Creating inclusive workplaces means opening space for conversations that are often overlooked. The Diversity Charter Germany (Charta der Vielfalt) continues to foster such dialogue through its upcoming lunch talk series, bringing together research, practical insights, and shared experiences. These sessions highlight how diversity, inclusion, and even less visible dimensions like spirituality can shape healthier and more collaborative organizational cultures.
Making Space for Spirituality: Unlocking an Overlooked Resource
Spirituality is often seen as a private matter—but what role can it play in the workplace? And what opportunities remain untapped when it is left unaddressed?
In this lunch talk on April 29, titled “Making Space for Spirituality? Perspectives on an Often Overlooked Resource,” Professor Dr. Dorothea Alewell will present current social science research on spirituality and management. Her talk will explore how spirituality can contribute to areas such as prevention, employee well-being, motivation, collaboration, and job satisfaction—while also acknowledging the tensions and complexities it may bring.
Adding a practical perspective, Matthias Vollmer will share insights from his work at Frankfurt Airport, where he is responsible for matters related to religion. Together, the session invites participants to reflect on how organizations can make spirituality visible as a resource and shape it constructively within diverse work environments.
Participation is free of charge.
Inspiration for German Diversity Day: Focus on SMEs
German Diversity Day will once again be celebrated on May 19, 2026. Over the past decade, this nationwide day of action has inspired a wide range of creative and impactful initiatives.
Following the great success of the first session, this second lunch talk will once again bring together inspiring examples—this time with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Moderated by Janboris Ann-Kathrin Rätz, the discussion will highlight practical activities and ideas that organizations can implement to actively promote diversity and inclusion.
Join this interactive session for an hour of shared learning, fresh perspectives, and community spirit.
Participation is free of charge.
