INSPIRE VOLLEYBALL (ID: 101241907), an ambitious initiative co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Sport programme. This project represents a collective commitment to breaking down barriers and proving that the volleyball court is a space where everyone, regardless of their physical abilities or background, can thrive together..

The core mission of INSPIRE VOLLEYBALL is to foster social inclusion through the power of sport. Over the next 24 months, the project will work to:

  • Develop and implement innovative volleyball training methods tailored for mixed-ability groups.
  • Empower youth and coaches across Europe with the tools to lead inclusive sports sessions.
  • Strengthen cross-border collaboration between sports organizations and inclusion experts.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and active community engagement at a grassroots level.

By focusing on the integration of disabled and non-disabled athletes, particularly through sitting volleyball, we aim to redefine “sport for all” as a tangible reality in European communities.

The project officially kicked off on 22nd of December with a meeting of our diverse consortium, bringing together expertise from across the continent. Each partner plays a pivotal role in the project development:

  • KEAN (Greece): Serving as the Project Coordinator, leading the way with extensive expertise in sports-based social inclusion.
  • USMA Padova (Italy): Focusing on grassroots training and the practical implementation of pilot sessions on the field.
  • AEK (Greece): Contributing to the development of high-level sports training models.
  • OPA (Bulgaria): Leading the efforts in policy engagement and ensuring the project’s long-term sustainability.
  • ISC (Türkiye): Driving community-based sports initiatives and raising public awareness through events.
  • CERC (Slovenia): Providing the scientific backbone through training methodologies and essential psychological support for athletes and staff.

Over the coming months, INSPIRE VOLLEYBALL will begin its research and development phase, creating the frameworks that will guide coaches and athletes toward a more inclusive future. We invite you to follow our journey as we build a stronger, healthier, and more united European sporting community.
