European Diversity Month 2025 – Mental health at the forefront of inclusion

This year, the European Commission is putting mental health and well-being in the workplace at the forefront, calling on employers and organisations to take an active role in fostering a culture of care.

The choice of theme is not accidental. According to recent data, one in two workers in Europe experiences elevated levels of stress or burnout, while neurodiverse people, LGBTQ+ workers and minority representatives face disproportionate challenges in terms of psychological safety in their workplace. European Diversity Month 2025 comes to send a clear message: There can be no real equality without emotional safety.

The initiative calls on companies, public bodies and organisations to organise actions throughout May: from internal seminars and awareness campaigns to public events and partnerships with mental health experts. The campaign carries the hashtag #EUDiversityMonth, encouraging networking, showcasing good practices and interaction at a pan-European level.

The official launch event will take place on 29 April 2025, with the participation of representatives of European institutions, social partners and bodies leading the way in inclusion issues. Diversitynews.eu will monitor developments and give a platform to Greek initiatives that actively participate in the institution.

In an era where diversity is often instrumentalized or downgraded, European Diversity Month reminds us that respect starts with everyone feeling good about themselves — and about their fellow human beings.
